Margaux Bergen Hurd is a global strategic communications expert, trainer, and organizational development professional with more than 25 years of experience having led strategic communication initiatives for the World Bank, United Way WorldWide, Vital Voices Global Partnership and its Bank of America Global Ambassadors Program, and Orb Media.
During her tenure as Vice President of Global Strategic Engagement at Vital Voices, she served as the senior liaison to the multilateral and bilateral community, engaging with international stakeholders and thought leaders on gender equity and women’s leadership. She also guided the organization to identify and create public-private efforts to fund innovative initiatives and served as the senior communications advisor for the organization, overseeing internal, external, and Board communications.
Throughout her career, Margaux has used communications to launch and/or reposition multilateral entities, nonprofit organizations, and academic institutions. As a senior communications advisor, she has served a number of roles including: leading culture shaping and internal communications; creating and implementing results-driven earned and social media campaigns; managing crisis communications; and acting as a corporate spokesperson.
Margaux published her first book, “Navigating Life: Things I Wish My Mother Had Told Me,” with Penguin Press in 2016. She is a former Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Margaux earned her MA at Edinburgh University.
